Executive Office

Jonathan Lev
Jonathan Lev, MPA, joined the Boulder JCC in 2010. He is a passionate educator and entrepreneur who combines his experience at Jewish summer camp and founding of Boulder based Renewable Choice Energy to influence his leadership as a Jewish professional. He was certified as high school teacher and Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Colorado in Boulder. For more than six years, Jonathan was a leader in the field of Jewish summer camp where he worked tirelessly to enhance the level of supervision and mentorship for both campers and staff through innovative summer and year-round trainings. In 2007, Jonathan continued his studies and was selected as a Taub Fellow at New York University in the dual-master’s degree program for a Master in Public Administration in Nonprofit Management (MPA) and Master in Hebrew and Judaic Studies (MA). He and his wife Lyndsay spend their free time hiking trails, skiing, listening to music, and planning their next great adventure.

Wendy Aronson
Wendy joined the Boulder JCC in August 2011 as the Assistant Executive Director. Wendy began her professional career in Boulder as the first Jewish Campus Service Corps Fellow at CU Boulder Hillel and has since spent 13 years creating positive Jewish experiences for young people in various informal educational settings.  Most recently, Wendy was the Program Director of the JWest Campership Program through the Foundation for Jewish Camp, a program which funded over 3300 first time campers from the Western states to attend Jewish overnight camp for multiple summers.  Wendy holds a M.A. in Jewish Communal Service from the Hornstein Program at Brandeis University and a M.A. in Jewish Education from Hebrew College.  In her free time, Wendy loves to travel (especially to Israel), sing karaoke and perform on stage in community theatre productions.

Phil Rubinstein
Phillip Rubinstein left his hometown of Los Angeles in 2006 to study at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Active in the University's Hillel, Phil quickly became involved in the the broader Jewish community, leading local services and teaching at Congregation Har HaShem. His involvement expanded as he began offering B'nai Mitzvah and Torah tutoring in addition to his teaching duties at Har HaShem. In 2009, Phil began teaching at Boulder Hebrew High, and in August of the following year he was brought on as the part-time J-Teen coordinator under Sara Goldberg, previous director of the Boulder JCC's new J-Teen department. Phil still continues to teach on the side, and looks forward to working with the JCC and the Jewish youth of Boulder and surrounding areas.

Support

Ben Brumbaugh
Ben helps with all aspects of Development; his main project is the Capital Campaign. In addition, Ben works in the preschool as a Pre-K Teacher and Office Assistant. Ben developed a deep passion for Non-Profit work as a student at Springfield College (MA) where he received his bachelor’s degree. Ben enjoys traveling to far off places and being outdoors when not working in Boulder.  Ben and his fiancee Sara feel very fortunate to be part of the Boulder JCC Community.

Carla Chamblee
Carla is the office manager/bookkeeper at the Boulder JCC. She has worked for the JCC since 1995 when it became a 501c3 organization. Prior to choosing to work in an office environment, Carla studied horticulture at CSU. However, she decided that hauling fertilizer or planning gardens is only worthwhile at her own home. She and her growing family all enjoy traveling and golfing. Carla’s journey to Judaism is probably quite different from most, and she is always quick to tell anyone who asks that she is very proud to be a part of such a diverse and dynamic organization. Her work inspires her to do more, work harder and make the Boulder JCC a place where everyone wants to be.

Jerry Pinsker
Jerry is the facilities director at the Boulder JCC. Jerry joined the staff at the JCC after retiring from 31 years in public education as a middle school educator and counselor. Born in the Bronx, Jerry and his wife Marilyn moved to Boulder back in the late 70's when the Boulder Jewish community was very small. It has been very exciting to be a part of the explosion of growth that has taken place in the Boulder Jewish community over the past 30 years. Jerry has two adult children, a daughter who is an admissions counselor at DU and a son who works in the IT field. Jerry is also very involved with the ADL as a founding member of the Boulder Steering committee and a World of Difference trainer.

Michael Rosenzweig
Michael is our new Community Concierge at the Boulder JCC. A New Jersey native, Michael attended Camp Louemma as a camper, counselor, and eventually a supervisor.  His experience at camp is what led him to develop a passion for working with children, nonprofits, and within the Jewish community.  Michael studied business management, marketing and finance at Binghamton University.  Prior to joining the Boulder JCC, Michael was a recruiter for software developers in New York and a high school algebra teacher in Hawaii. He fell in love with Colorado while on vacation last year and is pleased to now call Boulder home.  In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing guitar and ukulele, running, hiking, and playing soccer.
