Miners Alley Playhouse Presents… Kid’s Eye Theatre: Summer Intensive ages 8-13

Come and join us in building a play from the ground up! Have fun learning your lines, exploring your character, getting those tricky theatre words down and of course, dressing up in costumes! Well collimate by performing a 20-30 minute play for our family and friends complete with lights and set.

Rick Bernstein (Founder/Executive Director Miners Alley Playhouse)
After 14 years in Morrison Rick moved The Morrison Theatre to Golden. On June 13, 2003 Miners Alley Playhouse presented their first production, "The Elephant Man" which Rick helped to create while in college. Rick has been passionate about children's theatre. He co-published Kidzeye Theatre, a collection of children's plays. He developed “Theatre Rap”...an improvisational workshop for teens. Rick has been producing, directing, writing, and teaching for over 30 years. He grew up in Jefferson County and still calls it home.

Emily Norman (Director of Kid’s Eye Theatre)
Emily, a former Boulder JCC preschool teacher and graduate of the JCC in Trenton NJ, has been working with children since she was 13 and doing theatre since she was 7. She has a BA from Wheaton College in MA and has studied at The London Academy of Theatre as well as Eugene O’Neill’s National Theatre Institute. She has worked in Chicago, LA, Boston, and PA but she’s proud to call Boulder her home. Emily is thrilled to have this opportunity to be back at the JCC and teaching a program she loves.
