
Boulder Jewish Teen Council
Boulder Jewish Teen Council (BJTC) is the advisory board for the new J-Teen Department at the Boulder JCC.
What is BJTC?
The Boulder Jewish Teen Council is a community teen leadership council charged with the development of the new J-Teen Department at the Boulder JCC and increasing community awareness of issues facing Jewish teens in the Boulder area.
BJTC members:
- Provide direction, advice and information to the Boulder JCC and other local Jewish agencies about youth issues
- Organize programs, events and activities for the new J-Teen department of the Boulder JCC
- Participate in a year-long leadership training program
Benefits of being on the BJTC:
- Have a direct say in the types of programs developed for local Jewish teens
- Develop leadership skills
- Get to know Jewish teens from other schools
- Learn to work with youth and adult leaders in the Jewish Community
- Have a direct impact on the community and have fun!
Requirements:
- Identify as a Jewish teen (at least one parent is Jewish)
- High school age (entering 9-12 grade)
- Live in Boulder area (Boulder, Longmont, Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, Broomfield, Nederland, Lyons, etc.)
- Willing to commit to a year-long program and attend required meetings/events
- Able to work with a group of teens, follow-through on assignments and open to new ideas
- Interest in having a direct impact on the local community!
Time Commitment:
Monthly meetings
One weekend retreat in late August or early September
Occasional sub-committee meeting after school or on weekends
Participate in various J-Teen events / programs
One hour per month working in the J-Teen office

Selection Process:
A committee of JCC staff, volunteers and Jewish teens will read all written applications and interview applicants. New members will be invited to join based on their potential to positively contribute to the work of the BJTC and their capacity to represent a diverse group (affiliated, unaffiliated, variety of communities and ages represented). A total of 8-12 teens will be selected.
T3 (Teens Teaching Teens) With A Brand New Peer Education and Advocacy Program for Jewish High School students
A joint program of the Boulder JCC and the Boulder office of Anti-Defamation League made possible by the Rose Youth Foundation.
