Maimonides Wellness Center

Maimonides Wellness Center takes a broad approach to the pressing issues of health that affect our lives and our world. Maimonides programs range from practical to theoretical, from instructional to inspirational, from participatory to informational.

We have covered medical topics ranging from menopause to breast cancer to plastic surgery. We frequently explore psychological health topics such as depression.

Maimonides has tackled the circumcision debate, provided insight into medical marijuana, offered tips for keeping your brain young, and presented workshops on Jewish Genealogy.

We have offered yoga retreats, trained community members in end-of-life coaching, and presented a range of films dealing with subjects such as people with physical and mental disabilities.

We take the health of the planet into account as we explore issues such as the global water crisis and the fair-trade food movement.

The Maimonides Wellness Center is continually expanding its approach to providing pertinent programming that addresses the needs and the interests of the Boulder community. We look forward to increasing our emphasis on wellness in the new Boulder JCC.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers who helped make the 2015 9Health Fair a huge success.  We could not have done it without you!

One visit can change your life. That’s what many experience when they attend a 9Health Fair. The 9Health Fair served over 100,000 people last year and the JCC site served over 600. Logo.jpg

Maimonides works closely with Jewish Family Service, a separate organization housed at the Boulder JCC.

Boulder Jewish Family Service assists Jewish older adults and people with disabilities in maintaining their independence while providing a support system for their special needs through care management and outreach.

Boulder JFS brightens the lives of isolated older adults by hosting High Holiday services, Hanukkah celebrations, and Passover Seders for Jewish seniors in nursing homes, retirement communities, and assisted living facilities.

By offering well-established programs that are managed by qualified, dedicated, and specialized staff, Boulder JFS continues to respond to the unique needs of both the older residents who require services and recruit and retain volunteers who help provide those services.
