While we want to build confidence and lasting friendships at camp, we know the easiest way to do that is to have fun! This is why we have a wide range of activities offered throughout our camp season, giving your children exposure to various options and hopefully introducing them to new experiences. Activities at Cherryvale Day Camp include, but are not limited to:
Cherryvale Day Camp hosts an inclusive sports program and safety is our top priority. We believe that sports and competition are an integral part of youth development and teaching the value of fair play and respect for all involved in competition is critical.
Some examples of the sports we play at Cherryvale Day Camp include: Soccer, Softball, Kickball, Basketball, Frisbee (Ultimate & Disc Golf), Volleyball, Yoga, Flag Football, Hiking, and of course...GAGA
Milk and Honey Farm at the J is a 2+ acre educational sustainable farm that brings the greater community together via experiential programs and activities designed to ignite wonder and discovery, grounded in vast Jewish heritage, tradition, and values.
Some examples of the farm activities we have at camp are: Gardening, Harvesting, Farm to Table Snacks, Visiting our goats and chickens
We aim to make our creative arts program a meaningful and valuable experience for all of our campers. For this reason, we believe in art projects that are made of recycled or re-used materials. We also offer a fun and engaging creative arts program, consisting of theater, improvisation games, and music.
Some examples of the Creative Arts program at camp are: Crafting, Pottery (with a kiln), Ceramics, Theater, Dance, Improv Games, Origami, Music
We believe in giving our campers the power of choice! Our elective program gives campers the opportunity to participate in activities that they are interested in and choose for themselves. We offer a rotating selection of options for our campers to give them variety.
Other Activities that we have at Cherryvale Day Camp include: Cherryvale Culinary Institute, Farm to Table Snacks, Photography, Survival skills, STEAM projects, Board Games, Puzzles, Chess, Woodworking, "Crafternoon," and Quidditch
We are extremely excited about our brand new JCC facility and all that it means for our camp program. Our new location also lends us to an exciting opportunity. We are contracting with the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center in Lafayette to use their amazing, indoor pool facility, which includes water slides, a rock wall, a lazy river, and a splash park. We will head to their pool once a week for a day of swimming. The staff at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center will give swim tests to all first-time campers to ensure their safety. In addition to our day at the pool, we will have a splash park at the JCC so our campers can enjoy the sunny days while staying cool.
