Parent/Tot Parenting Class

Baby Time (newborn - 10 months)

Thursdays | Continuing January 5 | Skips March 30 | 11:45 am - 12:45 pm

Meet other parents, hear special guest speakers, and share your experiences of raising children. Topics discussed include: sleep, relationship changes, feeding, immunizations, personal identity, safety, and infant development. Everyone is welcome!


Toddler Time (newborn - 18 months)

Wednesdays beginning February 1 | Skips March 29 | 9:30 - 10:30 am 

Enjoy time with your busy toddler as they explore the tumble room using their large motor skills through sensory play and socialization with other children. Parenting topics will be discussed tailored to your growing toddler such as routines, development, potty training, relationships, and nutrition. Occasional speakers will host conversations on specific topics. The goal of this group is to create a connection between families and for moms to have a supportive, safe environment where parenting is discussed.


PAL - Play and Learn - Parent/Tot Class (18 months - 2.5 years)

Thursdays | January 12 - May 18 | Skips March 30 | 9:30 - 11 am

The PAL program provides children with an opportunity to explore a wide-range of preschool activities, including sensory, motor, art, social, and language experiences under the supervision of an early childhood teacher and their accompanying parent or significant adult. Emphasis is placed on exposing children to fun and inviting activities in a small group setting while providing a social outlet for the children as well as their adult companion.


PAL - Play and Learn - Parent/Tot Class (18 months - 2.5 years)

Fridays | January 13 - May 19 | Skips March 31 | 9:30 - 11 am

The PAL program provides children with an opportunity to explore a wide-range of preschool activities, including sensory, motor, art, social, and language experiences under the supervision of an early childhood teacher and their accompanying parent or significant adult. Music & Movement 

Music With Miss Zannie (newborn - 5 years)

8 Wednesdays | January 11 - March 1 | 10:30 - 11 am 
Music is fun, but it is also a great way to connect to others socially, learn new concepts, and foster early literacy. Come join us for Music With Miss Zannie where we will discover new instruments, dance together, connect music with literature, sing songs of language, and revamp some old favorites. 

Afternoon Tumbling Tots (walking - 3 years)

6 Thursdays | February 9 - March 16 | 3:30 - 4:15 pm

Tumble, jump, run, and leap in this active class where your child can explore new acrobatic and tumbling skills in a safe, fun environment. Children will enrich their physical and cognitive development by improving their gross motor skills.

Beginning Dance (2 - 3 years)

6 Tuesdays | April 18 - May 16 | 9:45 - 10:30 am

Does your little one start moving and grooving at the sound of any musical tune? Join other children who share the same feeling! This class will explore creative movement, classic foundations, tumbling and more!


Hip Hop Explosion* (2.5 - 5 years)

Session 1:

6 Wednesdays | January 11 - February 15 | 1:10 - 1:55 pm

This incredibly fun Hip Hop dance experience encourages kids to empower themselves and build confidence through movement and expression. Kids will explore a balance of choreographed movements, movement games, and rhythm exercises that are integrated to help reinforce skills and keep them engaged. The class acquaints kids with their bodies and improves balance, agility, and coordination, and it’s all set to fun, popular music. The kids in this class will quickly develop their own flair and dance attitude! 


Ballet* (2.5 - 5 years)

This ballet class introduces children to positions and movements through exercises and games. Skills such as gross motor, listening, body awareness, rhythm, and creative expression will be taught. There is no required dance attire, but please bring a water bottle. Parents may stay or drop-off their kids for this class.


SoccerTykes* (3.5 - 5 years)

Session 1:

Session 3:

6 Thursdays | April 13 - May 18 | 1:10 - 1:55 pm

This class focuses on incorporating new skills such as balance,coordination, movement, listening, and following instruction. It is a very active and engaging environment for kids to play and learn the game of soccer. Adult and parent participation is not required unless needed on an individual bases. Classes are held at the new soccer field at the J (weather permitting). Children must wear closed-toed shoes or sneakers, a hat, and sunscreen. Please bring a water bottle and a nut-free snack.


Mini Dribblers Basketball (3-5 years)

Session 1:

6 Wednesdays | January 11 - February 15 | 1:10 - 1:55 pm 

Session 2:

6 Wednesdays | February 22 - April 5 | 1:10 - 1:55 pm

Little Dribblers is a fun, interactive introduction to basketball for your active child. The program focuses on the basics of the game giving your child the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of basketball such as dribbling, passing, and making a basket.


Yoga (3-5 Years)

Session 1:

6 Mondays | January 9 - February 13 | 1:10 - 1:55 pm

Session 2:

6 Wednesdays | February 20 - April 3 | 1:10 - 1:55 pm

Your little yogi will learn simple poses and breathing exercises that help to strengthen coordination and build body awareness. This active preschool class will incorporate games and music for a fun introduction to yoga!


 
 

Language & Creative Arts

Parent/Tot Art Studio Class (12 Months - 2.5 Years)

6 Mondays | January 23 - February 27 10 - 10:45 am 

Young artists and parents are welcome to join us for an artistic experience at the JCC Art Studio. This is a specialty class designed just for Toddlers and their parents to create and engage with water colors, tempera paint, wire, clay, and much more. This will be a great opportunity to engage with your toddler and collaborate with other families through the language of art. Coffee, juice, and treats will also be provided.


Pottery for Preschoolers (4-5 Years)

6 Fridays | January 20 - February 23 1:10 - 1:55 pm 

This is a specialty class designed just for toddlers and their parents to create and engage with water colors, tempera paint, wire, clay, and much more. Engage with your toddler and collaborate with other families through the language of art. Coffee, juice, and treats will be provided.


You Can Build It (2.5 - 5 Years)

4 Tuesdays | January 24 – February 14 | 1:10-1:55 pm 

How many DUPLOS® does it take to reach your nose? How much weight can a newspaper structure hold? Can you keep a stack of blocks from toppling? Your building-loving kids will love this class and these challenges. Each week we will use a variety of materials to build, sculpt, and design our own structural masterpieces. You will be amazed by what your little one can create with everything from paper tubes to marshmallows.


Mini Chefs* (2.5 - 5 Years)

4 Tuesdays | February 21 – March 14 | 1:10-1:55pm

Does your toddler want to help in the kitchen? If so, this class is for your curious kitchen helper who is ready to explore on their own. Each week we will focus on a different theme involving food exploration while preparing delicious food. We will learn about kitchen safety, cooking techniques, food groups, and the farm-to-table process. Along the way, kitchen helpers will go on a sensory exploration via the five senses as new delicious treats are made. Each class will conclude with clean-up and storytime. Recipes will be sent home after the last class. Please inform us of any allergies at registration.


Spanish 360* (2.5 - 5 Years)

8 Mondays | January 23 - March 13 | 2:40 - 3:15 pm

Encourage your child to explore the Spanish language in a fun and interactive environment. Alison’s curriculum combines music, dance, art, hands-on activities, and lots of movement to create a fast paced class that engages students. As practice at home is helpful, families will receive weekly emails with vocabulary lists and suggestions on how to incorporate Spanish in the home.


Beginning Chess

Ages 4-6 

Beginning chess students will learn piece movement, the rules of chess, basic elements and strategies in this class. In addition to playing one another, the class will use tactical puzzles to stimulate individual problem solving skills. Chess has been shown to improve critical and logical thinking skills, focus, decision-making, and sportsmanship in young children and it's also fun!

Toddler Spanish 360* (18 Months - 2.5 Years)
 
8 Mondays | January 23 - March 13 | 3:20 - 3:50 pm 

Encourage your child to explore the Spanish language in a fun and interactive environment. This toddler class combines music, dance, puppets, stories, and movement to provide your little one with a great first exposure to a new language. Families will receive emails with vocabulary lists and suggestions on how to incorporate Spanish in the home. Parents and children will attend this class together.


Signing Smart Baby Sign Language Parent-Child Play Class (6 Months - 2 Years)

8 Tuesdays | January 24 – March 14 | 11:30 am – 12:15 pm

The Signing Smart™ program uses American Sign Language for early communication and long-term learning with hearing infants or toddlers. Through play, activities, songs, and games, your child will be given the tools to communicate months earlier and with a broader, more extensive vocabulary than with spoken words alone. Signing Smart™ opens up a new world of communication, intimacy, and ideas in young children.
