Jonathan Lev, MPA, joined the Boulder JCC in 2010. He is a passionate educator and entrepreneur who combines his experience at Jewish summer camp and involvement with the startup of Boulder based Renewable Choice Energy to influence his leadership as a Jewish professional. He was certified as high school teacher and Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Colorado in Boulder. For more than six years, Jonathan was a leader in the field of Jewish summer camp where he worked tirelessly to enhance the level of supervision and mentorship for both campers and staff through innovative summer and year-round trainings. In 2007, Jonathan continued his studies and was selected as a Taub Fellow at New York University in the dual-master’s degree program for a Master in Public Administration in Nonprofit Management (MPA) and Master in Hebrew and Judaic Studies (MA). He and his wife Lyndsay spend their free time hiking trails, skiing, listening to music, and spending time with their daughters, Mira and Susanna.

Cynthia Weinger is the Director of Operations at the Boulder JCC. A native of Rockville, MD and a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Cynthia moved to Boulder, CO in 2008, where she worked as the Executive Director at Congregation Bonai Shalom, and then as an independent consultant, before joining the Boulder JCC staff in 2014. She is passionate about building Jewish community and comes to the JCC with 17 years of experience in the Jewish non-profit sector. She loves living in Boulder, picnicking at the Wednesday Farmer’s Market, celebrating Shabbat with friends, and is delighted to part of the Boulder JCC team at such an exciting time.

Susie is the Director of Early Childhood Education at the Boulder JCC Preschool. Susie grew up in Boulder and attended CSU where she received her degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Education. During her time in Fort Collins, Susie was fortunate enough to work as a parent and family educator for United Way. Since 1988, she has been teaching or directing preschool. She has worked at the Boulder JCC since 2003, first as a teacher and now as the director. Susie feels so fortunate to be a part of such an outstanding program and surrounded by the wonderful teachers who work here.

Tracy Christeson joins the Boulder JCC with 22 years of non-profit and higher education management and development experience. During her career, Tracy has led development efforts for numerous non-profit organizations, including Girls Incorporated of Sarasota County, Girl Scout Council of Eastern Missouri, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In higher education, Tracy led national and international fundraising, alumni engagement, and marketing efforts for Washington University in St. Louis, Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder, and Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She has also launched fundraising programs as a consultant with the National Communication Association. Nine years ago, while traveling to Colorado for her work at Washington University in St. Louis, she met her husband, a professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, and fell in love with him and Boulder. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, entertaining, and loves calling Boulder home.

Peggy joined the Boulder JCC in 2014 as our first Controller. Peggy holds her CPA license and comes to us with over fifteen years accounting experience including public accounting, landscaping, construction, university and nonprofit organizations. Having recently relocated from Raleigh NC, Peggy and her husband Troy are thrilled to be living in their dream home in the mountains of Coal Creek Canyon. They enjoy hiking, wildlife, concerts and spending time with their adult children.

Kathryn Bernheimer is director of ACE: Arts, Culture, and Education at the Boulder JCC, as well as the JCC’s Cultural Arts Director. In her past lives, Kathryn was a Ph.D. Candidate in Theater at CU, a film critic and features writer for the Boulder Daily Camera, the Boulder correspondent for the Intermountain Jewish News, the host of the Denver Jewish Film Festival, a guest film programmer at the Mizel Center for Arts and Culture, and the author of two books of film criticism, including “The 50 Greatest Jewish Movies.” She has been the MC of the Boulder Jewish Festival since its inception, and is active in Federation, Limmud, AIPAC and Stand By Israel. Kathryn lives in Lafayette with her husband Stan Kreis, and has two daughters, Shayna and Naomi – both of whom share her passion for film! She loves nothing better creating programs she herself finds interesting and then sharing them with the community.

Shari is the Senior Camp Director. In her role, she supervises the youth and camps department and coordinates our specialty camps, afterschool programming, and 9Health Fair. Shari started working at the Boulder JCC in 2005. She has a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Syracuse University and a MBA in Marketing and Organizational Behavior from CU Boulder. Shari lives in Louisville with her husband and two teenage children who are both Boulder JCC Preschool Alumni. Shari is a product of both JCC Preschool and summer camp in Bridgewater, NJ and is excited to replicate the experience for Boulder youth.

Amanda Glucklich joined the Boulder JCC in February 2017. She is a passionate cook and grower who loves to share her knowledge and experience in Jewish agriculture. She has both attended and staffed Jewish overnight and day camps, was a BBYO advisor, attended Adamah in the spring of 2013, was a Moishe House Denver resident from 2015-2017 and is a current JOFEE fellow. Amanda attended Young Judaea Year Course 2005 - 2006 and graduated in 2009 with her Bachelor's Degree in International Studies with a Minor in Religion. She is currently a YAD Ambassador in Denver and OneTable coach. Amanda spends her free time cooking for the Jewish community, hiking, camping, and exploring Colorado.

David is an experienced programmer and leader. He spent three years at the American Hebrew Academy in Greensboro, NC, where he held the position of Student Life Programming Director. He also comes from an extensive camp background, attending Emma Kaufmann Camp for fifteen years. For the past nine years he has served as a member of the Emma Kaufmann Camp administrative team, most recently in the position of CIT Director and Programming Coordinator. David grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, where he attended Jewish day school until 8th grade. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from West Virginia University, also serving as their Hillel President. David brings to Camp Inc. a passion and dedication to youth work, along with a love of camping. In his spare time he enjoys doing improv comedy, traveling, and playing ice hockey.

Becca Gan Levy is passionate about sustainable agriculture, revitalizing Jewish practice, and building a more empowered, self-reliant and resilient society. She believes that hands-on, experiential activities on the farm that are rooted in Jewish tradition are an effective and fun way to build community around these principles. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Washington University in St Louis, she started working on Jewish community farms (including Adamah at Isabella Freedman and Kayam Farm at Pearlsone), combining her technical skills with her love for food, nature, and tradition. She is certified in ecological horticulture from UC Santa Cruz and has a masters degree in agriculture, food, and the environment from Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition. In her spare time, she enjoys running her own small farm business, playing in the CO outdoors, baking, domestic chemistry experiments, and sharing her knowledge with her community!

Jodi is a Los Angeles transplant with a degree in Marketing. After becoming a mom, she dedicated her time to raising her three children which allowed Jodi the opportunity to become quite active in the Jewish community, both as a fundraiser for a Jewish day school and as a Board member of the Zimmer Children's Museum. After a year abroad in Barcelona, Spain and the move to Boulder with her family, she missed being immersed in Jewish culture and life. Jodi's family soon joined Congregation Har Hashem, and luckily soon after the wonderful opportunity to work with ACE at the J presented itself.

Sara is the Special Events and Development Manager at the Boulder JCC. After studying music at The George Washington University, in Washington, D.C., she stayed on the east coast and has worked for a number of different arts nonprofits including Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, Studio Theatre, and the Children's Chorus of Washington. Sara is thrilled to have returned to her home state of Colorado after more than a decade away.

Heidi joined the Boulder JCC in January 2010 as the Cornerstone Capital Campaign Consultant. With over ten years of non-profit fundraising experience, she works with the Boulder JCC to establish and implement a comprehensive development plan for the agency. Heidi holds a BA from Dartmouth College and has lived in Colorado since 1998 with her husband and two sons.

Melissa has been the graphic designer for Boulder JCC since 2007. Melissa and her husband, Brad, moved to Boulder from Atlanta, Georgia, in 2006. They have two daughters, Lauren (a Boulder JCC Preschool alumni), and Veronica (currently a Boulder JCC Preschool Butterfly.) Melissa majored in graphic design with a minor in art, and has been a print graphic designer for over 15 years, ranging from large corporate to small business marketing. She is also a foodie and scratch chef when she's not designing.

Alyssa is the Development Coordinator at the Boulder JCC. After growing up in Boulder, Alyssa moved to Portland, Oregon and received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology. Her experience with Early Childhood Education and Event Planning initially drew her to the Boulder JCC, where she had the opportunity to work in several departments (ECC, Rentals, & Programming) before finally ending up in Development. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys playing the piano, snowboarding, and cooking.

Michael is the Boulder JCC Marketing Director. A New Jersey native, Michael attended Camp Louemma as a camper, counselor, and eventually a supervisor. His experience at camp is what led him to develop a passion for working with children, nonprofits, and within the Jewish community. Michael studied business management, marketing and finance at Binghamton University. Prior to joining the Boulder JCC, Michael was a recruiter for software developers in New York and a high school algebra teacher in Hawaii. He fell in love with Colorado while on vacation last year and is pleased to now call Boulder home. In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing guitar and ukulele, running, hiking, and playing soccer.

Kevin recently relocated to Colorado from Connecticut to enjoy all the Front Range has to offer. Kevin has made a career in home inspections and property management. A native of Greenwich, CT, Kevin's background includes 25 years of facilities management, construction management, landscaping, and general management for one of Greenwich's top philanthropists and entrepreneurs. Kevin has a large portfolio of overseeing projects, properties, and budgets, as well as imparting his stamp of excellence upon an organization. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys golf, hiking, reading, fitness, and photography. Kevin lives in Erie with his wife, Lisa, and is very excited to be part of the JCC team.

Sara Guttman is the Event and Rental Manager at the JCC. She is a native of sunny Florida and saw snow for the first time at age 20! Sara spent 10 summers at URJ Camp Coleman in Cleveland, Georgia. She has a degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia and has also lived in New York City and Seattle (yes, the coffee is that good). Sara has an extensive background in customer service, project management, operations, and Jewish communal work. She enjoys supporting people and organizations in having successful events and connecting them to the JCC community. She also hosts a weekly national radio show, and in her free time enjoys playing outside, yoga, and spending time with friends and family.

Erin joined the Boulder JCC as the Executive Assistant in June 2017. She provides a wide range of support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Previously, Erin worked at the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) as the Executive Assistant to the President and to the Commission for 10 years. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. She spends her free time raising two amazing boys, running, reading, and being outside in beautiful Colorado.

Galen Gaarder, PHR, is the Human Resources Manager at the Boulder JCC. Galen is a native of Chevy Chase, Maryland and a graduate of The College of Wooster. Galen began his HR career working for BNP Paribas Fortis Bank in New York City. Since moving to Colorado in 2010, Galen has worked in HR in community mental health agencies including Mental Health Partners. Galen is active in the HR community and served on the board of BAHRA and is currently the Technology Director for the COSHRM 2017 conference. Galen is passionate about building community and has served as a Peace Corps Volunteer, for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hospice and Everybody Wins. He and his wife Patty live in Lafayette, Colorado and enjoy spending time with their two kids Josephine and Gabriel.

Kayla began working with the Boulder JCC as a volunteer in 2015, later shifting to a role as interim Bookkeeper, and was finally hired on as full time Receptionist. In addition to Receptionist, Kayla also takes on the role of Internal Rentals Manager to our beautiful new facility. She moved to Colorado in 2013 from Raleigh, North Carolina, and has thoroughly embraced the mountain lifestyle ever since. She enjoys staying active in her free time with rock climbing, hiking, cooking, and attending concerts.

This is Lara's third year working with the caterpillar class. Lara is a Colorado native who lives in Erie with her husband and two children. She loves living in Colorado and spending time with her family watching college football, camping, skiing, and visiting her extended family in Fairplay. Lara began teaching while attending Metro State College of Denver and continues to take classes in early childhood education. She loves working with children and enjoys watching them blossom and grow.

Victoria Bisharat has been a Pre-K teacher at the Boulder JCC since 2013 and also assists with the Gesher Kindergarten class. She finds working with children to be incredibly inspiring and is always amazed at their accomplishments. Victoria loves to rock climb outdoors, camp and sing. Victoria graduated from SUNY Purchase with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. She completed her Masters in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Early Childhood Education in August, 2015. She loves being a part of the Boulder JCC Preschool.

Kimberly has worked at the Boulder JCC Preschool since 2011. She loves the JCC community and the joy and laughter the children bring to her life. Kimberly was a Pre-K Teacher for 4 years. After completing her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013 her role at the J shifted to Parent Educator. She now runs the Parenting Programs at the JCC. These include the mom's group, toddler group, single mom's group and adoption group. As a child, Kimberly attended Herzl Jewish Day School in Denver and then moved to Vail when she was 10. She attended CU and is a huge Buff fan! Prior to the JCC Kimberly interned at The Parenting Place in Boulder where she facilitated parenting groups, she has also worked at other preschools in the Boulder area. When she is not at the preschool, Kimberly enjoys hiking, basketball, photography, traveling and experiencing other cultures. Kimberly and her husband, Adam, have a daughter, Emily who turned 1 the end of August 2015.

Karli is thrilled to be working with the staff and family community at the Boulder JCC Preschool. After she and her husband moved to Boulder in 2005, Karli worked as program director for Hillel at the University of Colorado. Her three children have all attended (and loved) preschool, summer camps, and specialty classes at the Boulder JCC. Karli is active in the local Jewish community, including previously serving as a board member of Limmud Colorado and as an 18 Pomegranates Seed Counsel member, and currently serving on the advisory committee of Boulder Jewish Family Service. She has also worked with various local and national organizations as a grant writer and conference planner. She is an avid reader, movie fan, swimmer, yogi, traveler, connector, and event planner.

Ellen, a classroom supportive teacher, has worked at the Boulder JCC Preschool since its inception in 1987! She is originally from Brooklyn, NY. She has a son, David, who moved this summer to Paonia CO with his wife Susanne where they have a goat farm and cheeses. Ellen has a BA in Early Childhood Education from Metro University. She enjoys all of Colorado’s outdoor sports.

Leah is a Pre-K teacher as well as the music specialist and the Assistant Director of the Boulder JCC Preschool, where she has worked since 2006. Leah is a proud alumna of the Minneapolis JCC Preschool. Leah loves singing, everything Jewish, and children, so getting to combine all three is a great delight for her. When she is not at the Boulder JCC, Leah likes to bike, rock climb, read, and do crossword puzzles. Leah and her husband David have two children: Eli, a college student, and Sadie, an elementary school student.

This year Lindsey joins us as an Intern through the Journey School. She is a native of Boulder, has degrees in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Colorado. After graduating from CU, she spent a year and a half living and working abroad in New Zealand and Australia. Lindsey is currently working on her Masters in Education from the University of Denver. Having worked with children in various capacities throughout her life, Lindsey believes that planting positive seeds for the future starts with providing solid resources for children to safely explore their potential through healthy socialization and creative play. In her spare time, Lindsey also teaches yoga and enjoys spending time in the mountains.

Emma Ierley-Moss is excited to be working in the Dragonfly classroom this school year. She have worked at the JCC since 2011 with various ages, but has found that her real passion is working with the young preschoolers. She is a Boulder native and a recent graduate from the University of Colorado at Denver with a Bachelors of Science in music. In addition to her regular classes this past semester, she took the courses necessary to become lead teacher certified. Emma is looking forward to putting into practice her knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for early childhood education! She is looking forward to meeting you all and having a wonderful year!

Patti Kaminski, a Pre-K teacher, grew up in New York and attended college in small town Athens, Ohio, where she received her degree in Recreation Management. Patti moved to Boulder after falling in love with it while traveling with teens cross country.  She has been working with kids of all ages since 1990. In 2001, Patti got her Early Childhood Teachers license because the little ones bring her the most joy. Prior to coming to the Boulder JCC, Patti worked in the Boulder Valley School District for 20 years.  She lives in the foothills with her beautiful family.

Jill joined the JCC staff in 2014 as a Caterpillar teacher and is thrilled to be working in the Butterfly classroom this year. She is originally from Kansas, but has lived everywhere from New Orleans to San Francisco. Jill received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and is very excited to be working towards a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado this year. She loves working with children and feels very privileged to be a part of the JCC preschool community. In her free time, Jill enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats and exploring all the fun things Colorado has to offer.

Aimee has been with the JCC since 2014. She is excited to be a part of the Butterfly team for in her second year at the school. Prior to moving to Colorado, Aimee lived in southern California where she taught high school, middle school, and elementary school. In addition to teaching, she worked as the Youth and Camp Director for the Jewish Federation of the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys where she spent eight phenomenal summers at Camp Gan Shalom. In her free time, Aimee loves to bake, craft, and explore all that Colorado has to offer.

Megan joined the JCC in 2014. She has been working with children for the last 5 years. This is her second year as an assistant teacher and loves every minute of it, from the amazing staff to the great families. She grew up in various states, but Boulder is where she calls home. She is a creative person and enjoys singing and art. In Megans free time she enjoys the outdoors and taking long walks.

In 2001, Caroline began on this wonderful teaching journey at JCC. Caroline has her teaching certificate and degree from CU. She has taught at Friends School, and spent several years working in non-profit human service agencies. When not teaching here, she might be working with Bnai Mitzvah students, or teaching kids of all ages at Har HaShem. As a proud alumna of Denver JCC, and her high school age twins being proud alums of our Boulder JCC, she can say how grateful she is for every reason to be part of our school and the JCC community.

Sarah is the Play and Learn (PAL) teacher and also teaches a cursive class for elementary school kids at the JCC. She has a Master’s in Elementary Education and has taught in Boulder and Texas for 9 years. Sarah and her husband Stuart have two daughters; Rosie, who is a JCC preschool alum, and Lucy, who is currently in the Pre-K class at the JCC. In her limited spare time, Sarah loves doing crafty projects and spending time outside.

Julie began working at the Boulder JCC Preschool in 2010. Before moving to Boulder many years ago, Julie lived in Fairbanks, Alaska where she was a founder of the Head Start Program as well as a teacher. Julie sings in Resonance, Boulder's Women's Chorus, 135 voices strong. She has a son, Cody, who is an architect in New York City, he and his wife just had a baby girl this summer. Julie loves watching preschoolers grow and develop throughout the year.
