Ongoing Boulder JCC Parenting Groups

All parenting programs meet at the Boulder JCC and all parenting groups are facilitated by Parent Educator Kimberly Baker, MA Marriage and Family Therapy. There is no charge for the Parenting Groups, but donations are always welcome. All of the groups and classes are open to the entire community.


Parenting Program: Single Moms' Group

Meets on the first Tuesday of every month | 5:30 - 7 pm (childcare and dinner provided)

Baby Time (newborn - 10 months)

Thursdays | Skips March 30 | 11:45 am - 12:45 pm

Fridays | 9:30 - 10:30 am

Meet other parents, hear special guest speakers, and share your experiences of raising children. Topics discussed include: sleep, relationship changes, feeding, immunizations, personal identity, safety, and infant development. Everyone is welcome!


Toddler Time

Wednesdays beginning February 1 | Skips March 29 | 9:30 - 10:30 am 

Enjoy time with your busy toddler as they explore the tumble room using their large motor skills through sensory play and socialization with other children. Parenting topics will be discussed tailored to your growing toddler such as routines, development, potty training, relationships, and nutrition. Occasional speakers will host conversations on specific topics. The goal of this group is to create a connection between families and for moms to have a supportive, safe environment where parenting is discussed.


PAL - Play and Learn - Parent/Tot Class (18 months - 2.5 years)

Thursdays | January 12 - May 18 | Skips March 30 | 9:30 - 11 am

The PAL program provides children with an opportunity to explore a wide-range of preschool activities, including sensory, motor, art, social, and language experiences under the supervision of an early childhood teacher and their accompanying parent or significant adult. Emphasis is placed on exposing children to fun and inviting activities in a small group setting while providing a social outlet for the children as well as their adult companion.


PAL - Play and Learn - Parent/Tot Class (18 months - 2.5 years)

Fridays | January 13 - May 19 | Skips March 31 | 9:30 - 11 am

Preschool Parents' Book Club

Wednesdays | every 6 weeks, 7:30 pm

PARENTING SERIES AT THE J

The parenting series is designed to strengthen and foster the relationship between parents and children. Each workshop will bring a different professional to the J to present on various topics that pertain to parents of preschoolers and elementary aged children. Parents will learn new skills, be a part of an active discussion, and gather helpful tools for everyday parenting.

All proceeds benefit the Single Moms Group and Parenting Programs at the JCC. Register for the Parenting Series.
