Let your child’s imagination take flight with this innovative, solar-powered STEAM workshop. Participants will gain a better understanding of solar energy, modern space travel, building motors, and all necessary parts of basic moving robotics. Using their very own Solar Space Fleet kit, participants will create seven different moving and working models including a Space Station, Robot, Rover, Vehicle, Astronaut, Shuttle, and Dog. Space Fleet models utilize parts that snap together and are powered by solar energy, rechargeable battery, or battery pack. Check out a 3D Mars surface using 3D glasses. Make a color changing UV bracelet and take it home! Sample our delicious astronaut ice cream! Learn about constellations. Build and take home your own mini paper rocket and launch it indoors or outdoors. Students build step-by-step and we discuss building aspects as we progress. Additionally, throughout the workshop we will discuss space exploration, the planets of our solar system, and why robots are important. Let’s build a Funtastic Fleet together!
