Virtual: Israeli Art, Humor, and Playfulness

Date: April 6, 2020
Time: 11:00 am

Israeli art is often deemed as serious, heavy and provocative. Although this is quite true to the scene in general, there are many other approaches which dive deep into Israeli life and consciousness with a fresh look and a twinkle in the eyes. Through a selection of contemporary Israeli artists, multi-media artist Shirel Horovitz, will explore the place of humor and playfulness in Israeli art and the different strategies used by the artists. At the end of this talk, aritist Horovitz will share a few thoughts on how to play with these strategies in daily life. This program is presented in partnership with the JCCA.
