[VIRTUAL] Stories of Breaking Free: A Virtual Women's Seder

Date: March 24, 2021Time: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Passover is a time for us to reimagine what freedom means through storytelling, enjoying symbolic meals, and gathering together with our family and friends. The holiday begins on Saturday evening March 27 with the first Seder. One way to prepare for the holiday is to participate in special seder-like events leading up to the holiday. The Women's Seder developed about 25 years ago to create an opportunity for women to come together for an evening of ceremony and remembrance led by women for women.

This program takes a modern twist on an ancient tradition with an innovative and inspirational women’s seder. This event is open to all who identify as women. Women of the J are thrilled to offer this program in partnership with the Bender JCC of Greater Washington, the JCC of Greater Baltimore, and select JCC’s across the country. Women of the J Programs are Underwritten in Honor of Marc H. Monheimer by the Mervyn L. Brenner Foundation.

The Braid, a Jewish story company, will guide us through an evening of storytelling filled with food, laughs, wine, heart-opening empowered journeys of self-discovery, and connection. A special Haggadah (a guide to the Seder) will be emailed to you the week of the event.

THE BRAID, formerly Jewish Women’s Theatre, creates a legacy by inspiring Jewish stories that connect us all. As the national go-to Jewish story company that pioneered a new art form called Salon Theatre, we give voice to diverse contemporary stories grounded in Jewish culture and experience that can be performed anywhere.
