The full name of the day commemorating the victims of the Holocaust is “Yom Hashoah Ve-Hagevurah” — literally the “Day of (Remembrance of) the Holocaust and the Heroism.” It is marked on the 27th day in the month of Nisan — a week after the seventh day of Passover. There is no set way to commemorate Yom Hashoah.

In partnership with the Arts Hub in Lafayette, you have the opportunity to experience a powerful evening of music, theater, and visual art with Letters and Tracks: Stories of Resilience. Featuring Steve Reich’s groundbreaking composition Different Trains with live visuals by renowned artist David Fodel, the event explores themes of history, memory, and survival.

The program also includes a reading of Laurie Scoggins’ original play Paper Snow, which tells the inspiring true story of Sophie and Hans Scholl and their brave stand against the Nazi regime as leaders of the White Rose resistance group. Celebrate the enduring human spirit through this extraordinary fusion of sound, story, and imagery.

Monday, April 21 | 7 - 8:30 pm | Adult $28, Senior (65+) & Student $18, Children (1-13) $15
