Details
Yom Ha Zikaron is 'Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of the Wars of Israel and Victims of Actions of Terrorism'. It is Israel's official remembrance day, It was enacted into law in Israel in 1963. While Yom HaZikaron has been traditionally dedicated to fallen soldiers, commemoration has also been extended to civilian victims of terrorism. We will commemorate the lives lost since October 7.
The Israel American Council (IAC) has developed a moving and meaningful event with songs and personal stories to celebrate the lives of those lost and to show gratitude and respect.
This program will begin with a ceremony and continue with a sing along. The public sing-along is a common practice in Israel on Yom HaZikaron. The tradition stretches back to the early 20th century, with the first waves of Jewish immigrants. They’d work in the fields in the day and gather at night to learn new Hebrew songs.
This program is open to the whole community. Advance registration is strongly recommended.
