Life Itself
with Howie Movshovitz

Roger Ebert religiously attended the Conference on World Affairs for decades; his Cinema Interuptus program filled Macky Auditorium daily, and the panels he was on were bound to be spirited and funny. The documentary film, based in part on this eponymous memoir, plays tribute to a larger than life character, an outsize talent, arguably the most influential film critic of his day, and inarguably a supreme raconteur an eloquent and passionate speaker with encylopedic knowledge.

Howie Movshovitz, a film critic and close personal friend of the late, great Roger Ebert who appears in “Life Itself,” teaches film in UCD’s College of Arts & Media. The artistic director of the Denver Silent Film Festival, he has been reviewing films on public radio since 1976. Along the way he spent nine years as the film critic of The Denver Post, and has been contributing features on film subjects to NPR since 1987.
