Boulder Jewish Teen Initiative

The Boulder Jewish Teen Initiative (BJTI) helps high school students connect with their Jewish peers and explore their identities and relevant topics in a safe and welcoming space. We offer programs for 8th-12th grade students from all affiliations, backgrounds, schools, and Jewish identities in the greater Boulder area.

FALL 2021/WINTER 2022 PROGRAMS

The health, safety, and wellbeing of our community is our top priority. At this time, we are planning to run all upcoming teen programs similar to the 2020-21 school year:
  • Teen programs will be held mostly outdoors
  • Food will be served outdoors

These programs will be held in person at the Boulder JCC following all of our Health & Safety Protocols. As of November 1, 2021, we are implementing a Vaccination Policy for program participants that varies by program location/attendance. Please familiarize yourself with these protocols prior to the event. As always, all Health & Safety protocols are subject to change.

Teen Farm Cohort

This program is designed for teens, grades 8 - 12, who are interested in sustainability, farming, and making a positive impact on the world. Wednesdays after school, teens are invited to join us on-site at the JCC’s Milk and Honey Farm. Students will learn a variety of skills such as cheese making, soap making, food preservation, and chicken and goat care. We will also follow the Jewish calendar and have fun activities and events to celebrate the holidays. This program will be held weekly for three months in the fall and again for three months in the Spring. Together we will grow in community as we grow food.
