FAQs - ECC Summer Camp 2020

Updated as of 6/18/2020

How do I apply for summer 2020?

All families interested in attending this summer will need to submit a new application form. In addition, all families will need to read and agree to our ECC Family Reopening Handbook Addendum and Boulder JCC supplemental waiver

  • Prioritization will be based on guidelines provided by the state, including prioritizing essential workers. Afterwards, spots will be given on a first-come first-serve basis
  • Your application does not guarantee enrollment. In addition, if we do not have enough interest in a particular classroom, we may not run that class.

When will I find out if we have a spot for summer 2020?

Families will be notified of their enrollment status on a rolling basis beginning Friday, May 22.

What is the summer structure?

  • There will be 5 classes made up of children who are 12 months and walking (toddler) through children going into pre-kindergarten in the fall
  • At this time, we are not going to offer care for children under 12 months
  • Our maximum capacity for each class will be limited to 8 - 10 children
  • All families will commit to attending from 9 am - 3:30 pm each day
  • There will be no early drop off or late pick up at this time.

What are the dates of the summer sessions?

  • Session 1: June 1 - July 2
  • Session 2: July 6 - August 7
  • Both Sessions 1 and 2: June 1 - August 7

What precautions are you taking?

  • All children and staff will have their temperatures taken and a quick health assessment given each morning upon arrival
  • According to Boulder County Health Department guidelines, children within the school are not required to wear face masks. Additionally, there is no recommendation from the health department that children under 12 wear face masks, particularly children under 3, as it can be unsafe. You will have the option to request that your child, above 3 wear a face mask, and we will do our best to support them with this. No child will wear a face mask during nap time or on the playground
  • If a child becomes sick, parent(s)/guardian(s) will need to be able to pick up their children within 30 minutes of notification
  • Per local and state guidelines, should a person test positive or have a presumptive case of COVID-19, we will work with the health department regarding the need to close the specific classroom or the whole school. As of the most recent guidance, this closure would be for 24 hours in order to conduct a thorough cleaning/disinfecting of the school.
  • All registered families will need to read and abide by our ECC Family Reopening Handbook Addendum which outlines our protocols for the summer.

What is your immunization policy?

We follow the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment requirements for immunizations. Children must have up to date immunization records and general health exam forms stating when they had their last general health appraisal in order to attend school. We cannot allow children to be dropped off at school if their files are missing either of these two forms. If a child has a medical exemption, we must receive the statement of exemption to immunization with the appropriate documentation from your pediatrician. The Boulder JCC does not accept religious or personal exemptions.

What is your refund policy?

  • Unless the school is closed for over 5 days in a given session due to COVID-19 related guidelines, we will not be providing refunds for any closures.
  • If you apply for a summer session and are enrolled, we will not provide any refunds for withdrawals.

Are there still scholarships?

Due to the changing variables and our new summer structure, please contact Shanarae Goodwin for questions about your account and distribution for the summer.
