Farm and Sustainability

Sustainability is a foundational pillar at the Boulder JCC. We believe in educating ourselves and the community about ways to live more sustainably. As such, farming and sustainability are integrated throughout our building and program offerings through:

  • Year-round adult, family, and holiday programs on Milk and Honey Farm
  • Hands-on learning laboratory for our Early Childhood Center
  • Cherryvale Day Camp and After-School programs on the Farm
  • Year-round adult programs on sustainability
  • Solar panels on the barn power the Farm
  • Solar panels on the Boulder JCC building help offset power use
  • Our site features a 42-foot growing dome. For more information about the dome, visit
  • The JCC building is LEED-certified
  • Food leftovers from programs and rentals are distributed to those in need throughout Boulder County with the help of COPIA
  • Milk and Honey Farm is run using organic practices, including cover cropping, crop rotation, composting, manual and physical pest control, and large crop diversity
  • Participate in the Hazon Seal of Sustainability Program
  • Sustainable Holidays Guide
