Finding the right environment for your child’s earliest years is about more than just childcare; it is about finding a community where they can truly thrive. The Jay and Rose Phillips Early Childhood Center is excited to announce that enrollment is now open for the 2026-27 school year. We are currently highlighting openings in our older classrooms, including our unique Forest School and Pre-K programs, with flexible part-time options available for children aged 2.5 years and up. While we are rooted in Jewish values, we welcome families of all backgrounds and faiths to experience our holistic approach to early education.

What truly sets the ECC apart is that enrichment is woven into the very fabric of everyday life rather than treated as an afterthought. Our campus features dedicated Art, Farm, and Music studios, each led by a full-time specialist educator. This means your child doesn't just "visit" these spaces; they develop deep, ongoing relationships with mentors who help them find their visual voice in the art studio, connect with the cycles of nature on the farm, and explore rhythm and movement in the music studio. Whether you are a seasoned strategist who has played for decades or someone looking to jump back into the rhythm of the game, the evening is designed to celebrate both the competitive spirit and the enduring camaraderie that defines card table culture. Join us on Wednesday, May 20. This high-energy gathering brings players together for a night of tactical play and new friendships.

The festivities begin at 6:00 pm with a delicious community dinner, offering the perfect opportunity to fuel up and mingle before the cards are dealt. This opening hour serves as a vital bridge for the community, allowing participants to catch up with familiar faces and meet new neighbors in a relaxed setting. It is the ideal prelude to the focused play ahead, ensuring that the atmosphere remains warm and inclusive even as the tactical maneuvering begins at the tables.

Shavuot is one of the most meaningful and spiritually rich holidays in Jewish tradition, commemorating the giving of the Torah.  One tradition to celebrate the holiday is through study, reflection, and gathering together in celebration. This year, the Boulder Jewish community will continue that tradition with a “Night of Jewish Learning” taking place on May 21, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. This program is presented in partnership by Haver: Boulder Council of Rabbis and Cantors and the Boulder JCC.  Participants of all backgrounds will come together for a powerful night of learning, connection, community-building and cheesecake.

A Tikkun Leil Shavuot, the tradition of staying awake late into the night to study Torah and engage in meaningful discussion. Whether someone has spent years studying Jewish texts or is attending their very first Jewish learning event, the evening is intentionally designed to be welcoming and inclusive.

This year’s gathering centers around an especially timely and meaningful question: What does it truly take to build and sustain a holy community?  This will be the topic of the panel discussion with clergy, Jewish professionals and volunteers. That panel will begin at 7 pm.

There is a specific electricity that hums through the Boulder JCC as spring arrives. While many call this season a simple "awakening," those at the Milk and Honey Farm know the truth: it is a time of raw, authentic, and delightful energy. As the landscape transforms, the Boulder JCC campus establishes itself as the most inspiring backdrop in the region for ceremonies, retreats, and professional conferences.

A Living, Breathing Ecosystem

Sustainability is more than a buzzword at the JCC; it is a practice etched into the soil. Through no-till farming, the team protects the delicate soil structure and the "Food Forest" against Colorado’s notoriously fickle weather.

"Keeping roots in the ground ensures the land stays thriving, even when the weather throws a curveball," says Farmer Becca Gan Levy. This commitment to the land creates a stable, lush environment that serves as a metaphor for the growth and connection fostered within the center’s walls.

What’s New on the Farm?

Visitors to the campus this spring will find a flurry of activity:

• The Pollinators: Honey bees are already hard at work in the Food Forest, ensuring a future harvest of berries and apples.
• The Flock: The chickens have returned to their laying schedules, and the farm is preparing for on-site chick hatching.
• The Goats: The farm is buzzing with excitement following the arrival of Orli’s new kid on April 18!

Get ready, Boulder! The biggest night of the year is approaching, and we have a decade’s worth of reasons to celebrate. JFest returns to the Boulder JCC on Saturday, April 18, from 7:30 – 11 pm. This year is a major milestone as we mark 10 years in our beautiful home on Oreg Avenue.

To honor our past and invest in our future, the Boulder JCC will transform into an immersive, vibrant landscape for adults 21 and older. Best of all, JFest isn’t a typical fundraiser. There is no formal sit-down dinner and absolutely no paddle raise. Your donation of any amount, from $5,400 to $54, is your official ticket to the party.

The Dress Code: "Dress for Joy"

Forget the rigid rules of gala season. At JFest, the dress code is simple: Dress for Joy. We invite you to wear whatever makes you feel your best and brings you the most happiness. Whether that means sparkles, your favorite suit, comfies, or something that simply sparks a smile, we want to see your best version of a 10-year celebration.

In the rush of school pick-ups, extracurriculars, and the daily grind, it’s easy to feel like we’re moving through life in parallel lines rather than intersecting circles. At the Boulder JCC, we believe that a strong community isn't just about the events we attend; it’s built on the strength of our personal relationships.

That’s why we are thrilled to launch our Chavurah Program, a dedicated initiative within our JParent programming designed to help families with school-age children find their "tribe" and cultivate lasting Jewish connections.

Derived from the Hebrew word Chaver (friend), a Chavurah (plural: Chavurot) is a small, self-led friendship group. While the Chavurah movement has been a cornerstone of Jewish life since the 1960s, its purpose remains timeless: bringing people together to celebrate, learn, and support one another.

These aren't just social clubs; they are "micro-communities." Groups that truly click have the potential to grow together, celebrating B’nai Mitzvahs, holidays, and life’s milestones for decades to come.

We know that "forced" social groups can sometimes feel awkward. To ensure these groups are built on solid foundations, we are partnering with renowned Jewish educator Amy Atkins.
