Our Collection

HaSifria: Your Community Library at the J is the largest collection of Jewish literature, media, and resources in Boulder Country. It contains approximately 8,000 catalogued items for readers for all ages, including fiction and non-fiction books, DVDs, and other media.

In addition to the primary collection, the JCC houses a portion of Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi’s personal book collection, housed in the Reb Zalman Study. The Reb Zalman Study is designed to provide meaningful space for small group meetings and study, and is available for rental by community members.

HaSifria at the Boulder JCC is housed on the second floor of the Boulder JCC and is open to the community.

HaSifria also includes an online home for the Chidush Lesson Plan Library. The Chidush Lesson Plan Library provides award-winning lessons submitted by Jewish Educators from Boulder, Colorado. Find all Chidush lesson plans at www.boulderjcc.org/chidush.

The idea for a community Jewish library originated with the Boulder Jewish Educator's Council, a group that represents every congregation and learning institution in Boulder. The council wanted to create a centralized location to foster sharing and learning as a Jewish community for individual Jews, for congregations, and for the organizations that support Jewish life.
