New to Boulder

The Boulder JCC is committed to supporting the growth, vibrancy, and diversity of Boulder County and throughout the State of Colorado. We can help support your transition to Boulder with new connections and help navigate your choices of neighborhoods, schools, community organizations, recreation options, and synagogues.

The Rose Community Foundation recently completed a demographic study of the Denver/Boulder community. You can read the full report here. It sheds light on the growth of the Jewish community in Boulder County and the surrounding counties.

We can help you in all these areas and more if you are thinking about moving to Boulder, are a recent arrival, or if you have been here for years.

Our Welcoming Committee supports individuals and hosts a series of programs throughout the year to help people connect and get answers.

For an immediate connection to our staff complete the New to Boulder form and we'll point you in the right direction. Our job is to be at your service for all of your connection needs in the Boulder Jewish community.

Please check the Community Resources page for a full listing of local Jewish community organizations and a listing of synagogues in the area.

Virtual: Chavurah (Friendship) in a Box

The Boulder JCC is launching a new “Chavurah in a Box” program for families with young children to build a close knit and consistent community. A Chavurah (plural Chavurot) is loosely translated as “group of friends” and is a small group of families who gather together. The program is an open, inclusive, and easy way to learn and explore together how you want to bring Jewish values and celebration into your family. These groups celebrate holidays, learn together, socialize, and celebrate life-cycle events for years to come! We will start the program with online gatherings. Later this year, there may be opportunities to meet in-person.

The Boulder JCC will help build interested families into groups, as well as provide tools, supplies, resources, activities, and books for your online monthly gatherings. We will support your group throughout the year with a training to get started and use the activities we have developed.

PLEASE COMPLETE THE INTEREST FORM by September 1. You will then be contacted by Shari Blake Schnee with more information. There will be an informational training on how to use your Chavurah in a Box materials during the week of August 31 | $100
