Ongoing Boulder JCC Parenting Groups

All parenting programs meet at the Boulder JCC and all parenting groups are facilitated by Parent Educator Kimberly Baker, MA Marriage and Family Therapy. There is no charge for the Parenting Groups, but donations are always welcome. All of the groups and classes are open to the entire community.

Infant Sleep Classes (Ages newborn - 1 year)

6 - 12 months | Thursdays, October 11 and October 18 | 12:30 - 2 pm | $40 per family | REGISTER HERE

Baby Time (Ages newborn - 1 year)

Meet other parents and share your experience of raising a little one in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Guest speakers will be brought in on a monthly basis and will discuss topics including sleep, infant massage, transitioning to solids, relationship changes, feeding, immunizations, personal identity, safety, and infant development.

Toddler Time (Ages 10 months - 2.5 years)

Enjoy time with Kimberly and your busy toddler as they explore the tumble room using their large gross motor skills through sensory play and socialization with other children, occasional guest speakers, and music time. Parenting topics will be discussed in a safe, supportive environment and tailored to your growing toddler such as tantrums, social/emotional development, potty training, sibling relationships, and nutrition.

Beginning September 5th, only families who have completed the registration form will be guaranteed a spot in Toddler Time.

Single Moms’ Group

This group is designed to foster a growing need in our community for support around raising children for single moms. Members of the group help support each other by sharing their challenges and successes around trying to find a balance between work, life, single motherhood, and raising children. Childcare and dinner will be provided free of charge in the tumble room.

Fireside Shabbat (Ages newborn - 6 years)

Enjoy spending some time with other families by the Fireplace in the lobby singing, eating challah, and reading stories. Fireside Shabbat participants will engage in occasional crafts as well as visit various spaces around the JCC campus.

Sunrise Family Spanish (Ages newborn - 6 years)

Join Ms Denise of Lingua Garden for a energetic and immersive Spanish class!

No matter what your level of Spanish is, this class is fun for your children and a great way for you to bond while getting to know more families. Parents will be provided with a song and a vocabulary list at the beginning of each class. Children will be provided with fun, age appropriate activities and encouraged to use the language and learn naturally. Each class includes activities, crafts, and occasional snacks. Ms Denise keeps everyone moving and going so that they are constantly stimulated and challenged. *COFFEE SERVICE PROVIDED!*

Rosh Hashanah Field Day

Get in the spirit for the Jewish New Year at the Rosh Hashanah Field Day for kids and families. Make holiday crafts, eat sweet foods, and participate in the shofar blowing. Bring your dinner and stay for a picnic.

Sukkot on the Farm

Bring your family to celebrate the harvest festival of Sukkot at Milk and Honey Farm.

Farmside Family Yoga in the Sukkah

Join us Saturday morning in the Sukkah to rest, renew, move through a gentle yoga sequence, and start your Shabbat morning right. Play with the goats after your mindful practice. Geared toward families with children 3-8 years old, but all ages welcome.

Parenting Safe Children Workshop
with Feather Berkower
The Parenting Safe Children workshop offers valuable information, ideas, and tools to help you prevent child sexual assault in your home and community! The workshop covers three prevention areas and empowers you to discuss body-safety with children and caregivers in a positive and effective manner. This 4.0 hour workshop is for parents, relatives, educators, therapists—anyone who cares about children!

  • Identify what makes children vulnerable to sexual assault, so you are empowered with the facts.
  • Learn body-safety rules, so you can teach your children about personal body safety, in an age- appropriate, positive, and non-threatening manner.
  • Develop screening techniques, so you can decide more confidently which caregivers you want to entrust with your children.

Jeff and Paige Chanukah Concert (All ages welcome)

Please join us for an interactive musical celebration of Chanukah with Jeff and Paige. With elaborate costumes and songs, Jeff and Paige use storytelling to explore Chanukah and celebrate its many traditions. This is a family friendly event, all ages are welcome.
