Boulder Jewish Teen Initiative

We are excited to announce the launch of a new  program just for teens in Boulder, the Boulder Jewish Teen Initiative (BJTI)

Who? Teens in grades 8-12 who identify as Jewish and want meaningful connections with their peers and engaging activities. No previous synagogue, educational or other affiliation is necessary. BJTI draws students from Boulder and the Frontrange communities, from Longmont to Westminster, Nederland to Erie.

What?  BJTI is both a network and a program provider for the entire Boulder Jewish community. It supports and participates in all Jewish organizations teen offerings and creates it’s own unique activities. It is an opportunity for teens to connect with their peers as well as lay leaders, professionals, and mentors in the community. BJTI offers dynamic activities that have diversity and flexibility to fit a teen’s busy schedule. You can choose to show up as a participant or take a leadership role on the youth advisory council. It is a place for teens to explore and take ownership of their Jewish experiences.

Why?  The friendships and connections you make now as a teen have the potential to be the most important and influential relationships of your life. Finding the right group of friends can be tough and BJTI aims to create a safe space where you can find the people you identify with and help each other navigate life’s path ahead of you. BJTI also is invested in all of our teen’s growth as members of our community and can find the right person to help you improve your violin or pass that frightening calculus exam. Our programs will delve into relevant and complex topics, teach tangible skills, and bring important Jewish values and perspectives to these conversations and activities.

How?  Through amazing financial support from Rose Community Foundation and the Jim Joseph Foundation the Boulder Jewish community is able to create and offer new and engaging opportunities for our teen population. BJTI is a collaboration amongst many of the congregations and Jewish organizations in Boulder who all share the vision of helping future generations stay connected to their Jewish traditions and culture.
