Details
In this embodied and participatory evening, Danya and Eyal Rivlin lead the community in ecstatic Hebrew sacred chanting (kirtan). Backed by Boulder's top musicians and using ancient Hebrew melodies and mantras, we'll build a sonic temple with our voices. Chanting calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and clears the mind. Set in a circle rather than a traditional audience-performer format, we'll co-create together—no prior experience needed.
Eyal Rivlin, born in Israel's Jordan Valley, journeyed from Tel Aviv's music scene through Europe and India to Boulder, Colorado. For over 25 years, he's built bridges between cultures through music, dance, and spiritual practice. An award-winning teaching professor in CU Boulder's Jewish Studies program for 14 years, Eyal is recognized for his inspiring and engaging teaching style. He runs the annual Schmooze-a-Palooza Hebrew music festival and leads ecstatic song and dance evenings with world fusion ensembles.
Danya Rivlin, a lifelong composer and singer raised in Colorado's mountains, studied at Wellesley College and in Jerusalem, Mexico, and California. Now based in Boulder for over 20 years with her husband and two daughters, she works in real estate while continuing to compose and share original Hebrew chants, revitalizing ancient texts in service of deep spiritual connection.
