Vitalant is currently facing a critical shortage of type O blood after donations have steadily declined since May, with the July Fourth holiday further reducing donor turnout. The supply of type O blood has now fallen to its lowest level in two years. Maintaining an adequate blood supply is critical to ensuring patients receive the transfusions they need without delay. Blood donors of all blood types, especially type O, are urgently needed.
