Rob Levy and Sara Sanderson Opening a New Exhibit at the Boulder JCC Messinger Gallery

By Claudia Metsch

Join the Boulder JCC Messinger Art Gallery for the opening of new exhibitions featuring Rob Levy and Sara Sanderson. Enjoy an evening of art, connection, live music, light fare, and a talk with the artist.

Accomplished designer and craftsman Rob Levy will showcase a new body of work at the Messinger Art Gallery. This unique collection includes innovative sculptures, art furniture, and upholstered pieces that have never been displayed.

Sara is a landscape painter based in Boulder, Colorado. She utilizes her keen observational skills and artistic vision to create expressive and painterly works. Her paintings reflect the organic beauty surrounding her, highlighting the intricate interplay between color, design, and scale in nature. Sara's subjects often revolve around the complicated forms of flora and fauna, captured in the style of disrupted realism. Through the brevity of brushwork, she captures the essence of her subject, conveying a sense of tranquility and awe in the face of the natural world. Sara's works invite viewers to explore the wonders of nature with a renewed appreciation for its beauty and complexity.

Rob Levy and Sara Sanderson's exhibits open on Wednesday, December 11, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Please register in advance on the Boulder JCC website.

By Claudia Metsch

Join the Boulder JCC on Sunday, December 8, for “The Sounds of Jewish America with Joe Alterman.” It is an educational musical extravaganza that shares and celebrates the captivating Jewish narrative behind so much iconic American music. Throughout the 20th century, Jews have always contributed to American popular music, from Irving Berlin's timeless classics to Carole King's chart-topping hits and beyond. However, according to pianist and scholar Joe Alterman, the Jewishness of the music is defined by its story and not necessarily by its melody. Part performance, part storytelling, Alterman shares timeless American music with fascinating Jewish stories woven into exploring the vibrant intersection of Jewish heritage and American music that defines a cultural legacy.
