Safety and Security at the Boulder Jewish Festival - What to Expect for 2026
Safety and security are our top priority for the Boulder Jewish Festival. Every year, the security presence at the festival is provided through our partnership with the Boulder Police Department, which works directly with our team to develop and implement the security plan.
This year, you will see a significant security presence, which includes elements such as increased patrols - including undercover, aerial, and rooftop monitoring, and K9 units. Please note that not all measures will be visible to or shared with the public, which is by design. In addition, to ensure the maximum effectiveness of all security operations, specific details of police tactical plans and deployment locations remain confidential.
These measures are proactive and precautionary. They are not in response to any specific, immediate threat, but are designed to ensure that the celebration of Jewish arts, culture, and music remains a joyful and safe experience for all attendees.
We also work year-round with a network of local and national experts to monitor safety and evaluate potential risks. For the Festival specifically, they will be supporting us in the following ways:
- Boulder Police Department (BPD): Operating with an "all hands on deck" approach for high-visibility coverage.
- Secure Community Network (SCN): Supported by JEWISHcolorado, providing national-level intelligence monitoring.
- Federal Partners: Ongoing coordination with the FBI and other national agencies.
We invite all attendees to assist us in maintaining a safe environment. If you see something that seems out of place or concerning, please report it immediately to the nearest police officer or festival staff member.
