Details
In this class, students will learn to weave Danish medallions, a finger control technique, while warping and weaving with multiple colors. The Danish medallion's black outline against the scarf's colorful background creates a striking effect. A supply list will be provided upon registration. The scarf will be woven with yoga yarn (cotton with a nylon core and bamboo pop). All yarn will be provided on the first day of class
Workshops will be led by Sara Goldenberg White, who has been teaching weaving along the Front Range for over a decade. Her passion for weaving and teaching started during her graduate study at Colorado State University. She teaches a variety of fiber techniques but sharing her love of weaving with others is one of her greatest joys. Sara coauthored Simple Woven Garments: 20+ Projects to Weave and Wear with Jane Patrick. Sara also has a lively fine arts practice and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the country. Sara enjoys the balance of creating her own work and sharing her love of weaving in the classroom. She looks forward to seeing you there!
All materials will be provided. Prior weaving experience required
This workshop will have a 5 person minimum - 8 person maximum and will break for lunch
