Details
Pick your loom, rigid heddle or harness loom, to weave this twill scarf!
For class, all of the warping will be indirect. Students on the rigid heddle loom will work with two heddles, a pick-up stick, and a heddle rod. Lots of skills will be covered while creating a colorful diamond pattern. For those rigid heddle weavers who have been curious about harness loom weaving, this will be an excellent opportunity to see what it is all about.
Prior rigid heddle weaving experience required.
Workshops will be led by Sara Goldenberg White, who has been teaching weaving along the Front Range for over a decade. Her passion for weaving and teaching started during her graduate study at Colorado State University. She teaches a variety of fiber techniques, but sharing her love of weaving with others is one of her greatest joys. Sara coauthored Simple Woven Garments: 20+ Projects to Weave and Wear with Jane Patrick. Sara also has a lively fine arts practice and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the country. Sara enjoys the balance of creating her own work and sharing her love of weaving in the classroom. She looks forward to seeing you there!
This workshop will have a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 8, and will include a lunch break.
The yarn is included in the kit fee, and Schacht will provide the looms at no charge.
Looms can be taken home during the session to complete your project.
Tuesdays, April 7 - 21 | 10 am - 3 pm | $264
