REGISTRATION OPENS ON DECEMBER 10TH
Clasped warp is a great way to add organic color movement to your weaving. This class will cover a new warping technique that allows for different colors of fringe on either side of your weaving! The addition of Leno, a lace finger control pattern, creates a wonderfully drapey and beautiful shawl. For the project, students will weave with Gist’s Sero silk noil. This yarn is both soft and strong, with a great texture.
Workshops will be led by Sara Goldenberg White, who has been teaching weaving along the Front Range for over a decade. Her passion for weaving and teaching started during her graduate study at Colorado State University. She teaches a variety of fiber techniques, but sharing her love of weaving with others is one of her greatest joys. Sara coauthored Simple Woven Garments: 20+ Projects to Weave and Wear with Jane Patrick. Sara also has a lively fine arts practice and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the country. Sara enjoys the balance of creating her own work and sharing her love of weaving in the classroom. She looks forward to seeing you there!
This workshop will have a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 8, and will break for lunch.
The yarn is included in the kit fee, and Schacht Spindle Company will provide the looms at no charge. Looms can be taken home during the session to complete your project.
