Details
Combine your rigid heddle weaving skills with the art of textile transformation in this innovative workshop that beautifully merges float patterns and shibori dyeing. Using a pick-up stick, you will weave a custom scarf in which your structural choices form the dye patterns, culminating in a final day of dyeing and prepping your piece for its dye bath. Prior rigid-heddle weaving experience is required, and students will complete the final wash of their scarves at home. Required supplies: a loom (15” or wider), a 12-dent heddle, a warping peg, a heddle hook, scissors, rubber bands, paper for winding onto the loom, a measuring tape, 2 stick shuttles, and a dye bucket with a lid.
