From Family Shabbat in the Park and Shabbat for those 50+, to Early Learning & Parenting Classes, a Community Block Party, and after-school activities, there are so many opportunities for connection for all ages this fall at the Boulder JCC!

On Tuesday, August 6, the Boulder JCC along with Congregation Nevei Kodesh, Congregation Bonai Shalom, and Yesod Foundation, will be honoring the 10th Anniversary of Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi’s Yahrzeit. The Boulder community, with special guests, will come together to reconnect to Reb Zalman’s legacy through stories and music. Rabbi Tirzah Firestone and Rabbi Marc Soloway of Congregation Bonai Shalom will lead this program. Socializing with light fare at 5:45 pm, Music and Multimedia starts at 6:30 pm. This is a free event, advanced registration is encouraged. A Livestream will also be available for this event.

On the second Monday of the month, from August through December, join us for Voices from Within Israel, an engaging monthly interview series that explores Israeli society in-depth. Each session features conversations with prominent leaders from various sectors, including social organizations, the economy, geopolitics, women’s rights, and more. Led by Nelly Ben Tal, the Israeli emissary for JEWISHcolorado, Voices from Within Israel aims to bridge the gap between Israel and our community, fostering a better understanding of the diverse and dynamic voices that drive the nation. Register to receive the Zoom link. You will only need to register once to attend every month, but you are not obligated to attend monthly.

On August 9, come to the Boulder JCC for a catered Shabbat Dinner for ages 50+. Connect with old friends and meet new ones as we welcome Shabbat together.

The Boulder JCC is excited to host two Family Shabbats in the Park, in Broomfield on August 16 and Louisville on September 20! Together we’ll sing songs and welcome Shabbat. Make sure to bring a picnic dinner for your family, and the Boulder JCC will provide the Challah and grape juice (a gluten-free option is available with one-week advance registration). Please register in advance on the Boulder JCC website.

Come to the Boulder JCC Grant Family Patio on Wednesday, August 21 for the Community Block Party. This engaging open house will bring together Boulder JCC departments and local organizations in a community setting to celebrate the back-to-school season. Meet up with friends old and new to enjoy music, lawn games, a farm tour, try our Modern Israeli Dance class, participate in drop-in Pickleball open play, and purchase from on-site food trucks. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Boulder JCC’s programs and opportunities, as well as a great resource if you want to connect to a Jewish community organization for religious school or high holiday experiences this Fall.

Starting in September, our Early Learning & Parenting classes resume for fall. We have many different programs for ages under 6 months to 2.5 years old ranging from Baby Creative Movement with InsideOut to Toddler Time in the Tumble room, to Chat, FLow, and Grow with Nupur Israni, and so many more. Make sure to check out our Early Learning & Parenting page for class info and to register as soon as possible, as spots get filled up fast.

Looking for an after-school program for your children? For young artists (ages 5 – 10 years), we have Ceramics starting September 9. In this 8-week class, students will explore the basics of rolling, shaping, sculpting, and glazing to create their own unique hand-built clay creations. No previous experience with clay is required. For those who want to learn and perfect their dance moves, the JCC will be offering a range of dance classes, led by Shari Polis, for ages Kindergarten through Teens. Learn more and register here.

For more information on all these programs, or any other programs we have scheduled for this fall, please refer to the Boulder JCC events calendar.  Can’t wait to see you there!
