On Wednesday, August 21, from 4 - 7 pm, the Boulder JCC will host a Community Block Party, bringing together Boulder JCC program departments and local organizations for an engaging event filled with fun, friends, and information. Join us on the Grant Family Patio to enjoy food available for purchase from on-site food trucks, live music, lawn games, a farm tour, a chance to try our Modern Israeli Dance class, drop-in Pickleball open play, and much more.
Representatives from Boulder JCC departments will be on hand to answer questions about upcoming programs. Over 15 local Jewish organizations will be there as well. If you are looking for a religious school, a high holiday event, or just looking to get involved, this is the perfect opportunity to find the information you need. We are thrilled to welcome community partners: Congregation Har HaShem, Hadassah, Jewish Family Service, Congregation Nevei Kodesh, Congregation Bonai Shalom, Sustainable Israeli-Palestinian Projects (SIPP), Beth Ami - CO Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, Colorado Jewish Climate Action, Boulder Chevra Kadisha, Adventure Rabbi, PJ Library and JewishColorado, Jewish National Fund - USA, Stop Antisemitism CO, Jewish Cancer Prevention, and Israeli American Council.
We will have open-play drop-in Pickleball from 5 - 6 p.m. on our indoor courts. This is perfect for those familiar with the game who want to enhance their skills. Join us to improve your technique or enjoy the sport in a relaxed atmosphere.
From 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., the Milk and Honey Farm, a 2+ acre educational sustainable farm located on the Boulder JCC campus, will conduct a tour. The farm offers experiential programs and activities grounded in Jewish heritage, tradition, and values. We grow over 4,500 lbs of vegetables, most donated to those in need. Our farm also houses chickens and goats, a greenhouse with koi fish, and a full children’s garden.
The Boulder JCC and Boulder Israeli Dance will offer a new series in Modern Israeli Dance this fall. Starting at 6 p.m., attendees can learn new material in each class series—beginners and repeat attendees are welcome! Israeli dance combines the joy of contemporary Israeli music with an uplifting group dance experience. Learn the basics of Israeli circle and line dances, both classic and new, in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Three food trucks will be available during the Community Block Party to purchase food and dessert. The Daniella Katzir Duo will perform hits from yesterday and today to get you dancing and moving from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Enjoy delicious seasonal food from Lady in the Wild, tacos from McDevitt Taco Supply, and artisan ice cream from Pint's Peak.
The Community Block Party is a free event, but advance registration is strongly encouraged so we can notify you of any changes to the event. Those who register in advance will receive a bonus Boulder JCC swag item!
