We are thrilled to announce that the Boulder JCC has been selected as a recipient of a generous grant from The Tepper Foundation. This grant is part of a $1.9 million initiative supporting seven Jewish Community Centers (JCCs) across the country. This three-year pilot program aims to enhance Jewish enrichment for families by equipping parents with the tools and knowledge to extend Jewish learning beyond the classroom and into their homes.

Our participation in this program affirms the Boulder JCC’s commitment to strengthening Jewish life within our community, empowering parents to foster meaningful Jewish experiences that resonate throughout the year. By offering resources and guidance, we hope to deepen the connection between families and their Jewish identity, ensuring that learning and traditions thrive in everyday life and continue as their children grow.

This initiative aligns with The Tepper Foundation’s broader mission to fortify the American Jewish community in the face of rising antisemitism and other challenges. In addition to supporting Jewish education, The Tepper Foundation has allocated over $12 million to enhance security for Jewish institutions, demonstrating its unwavering dedication to preserving Jewish life and heritage.

Founded in 1996 by David Tepper, The Tepper Foundation has a long history of supporting organizations that meet essential needs, safeguard rights, and strengthen the nonprofit sector. Their generous support of this pilot program highlights their commitment to ensuring a vibrant, resilient future for Jewish families across the United States.

With the help of this grant, the Boulder JCC has hired Jon Wood to lead this initiative called J Parent. With a broad background in Jewish education and two children who are alumni of the Jay and Rose Phillips Early Childhood Center alumni, he aims to develop innovative programs designed to empower parents to be confident in their family’s Jewish education journey. From interactive workshops to digestible and educational ‘tiny facts’ to share with others, this initiative aims to create a journey filled with connections and experiences for parents once their currently enrolled preschoolers graduate.

We are honored to be part of this groundbreaking initiative and look forward to partnering with The Tepper Foundation and our fellow JCCs to shape a future where Jewish education flourishes in every home.
