Ensuring No One Goes Hungry: Join Our Passover Food Drive

As we prepare to gather around the Seder table, we recount the story of our ancestors’ journey from bondage to freedom. It is a time of reflection, celebration, and, most importantly, community. Central to the Passover story is the call to empathy and action. As the Haggadah commands us: "Let all who are hungry come and eat." This year, that call is more urgent than ever.

In Boulder and Broomfield Counties, the reality of food insecurity is closer than many realize. Currently, 1 in 12 of our neighbors are experiencing food insecurity. As the cost of living continues to rise, many families are being forced into impossible "heat or eat" decisions—choosing between paying essential bills or buying nutritious groceries.

Through our partnership with Community Food Share, we have the opportunity to live out the spirit of Passover by ensuring that liberation from hunger is a reality for everyone in our community.

We invite you to participate in the Passover Food Drive between Monday, March 9, and Wednesday, April 1. There are two impactful ways to give:

We are collecting high-need items to stock local pantries' shelves. Please bring your donations to the collection boxes located at:

  • The Boulder JCC (Lobby hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Congregation Har HaShem
  • Congregation Nevei Kodesh

Most Needed Items:

  • Nut Butters
  • Cereal & Oatmeal
  • Canned Fruits & Vegetables
  • Soups & Stews
  • Pasta & Canned Sauce
  • Beans (Canned or Dry)
  • Canned Tuna & Chicken
  • Baby Food & Formula

Financial contributions offer incredible flexibility and impact. Because of their massive buying power and relationships with suppliers, Community Food Share can turn every $1 donated into $6 worth of groceries. By donating online, you allow the food bank to purchase fresh produce and dairy that cannot be collected in bins.

Passover reminds us that we are responsible for one another. By participating in this food drive, you are doing more than just donating items; you are providing hope and dignity to families during a season of renewal.

Let us honor the tradition of the Seder by opening our hearts and our hands. Together, we can ensure that all in our community have access to the food they need to thrive.

The Food Drive will take place through Wednesday, April 1, while the Boulder JCC is open. Congregation Har HaShem and Nevei Kodesh are also accepting food donations.
