As Passover approaches, the Boulder JCC is offering a variety of ways for the community to connect, give back, and prepare for the holiday. Whether you are looking to support local families in need or want to give your children a hands-on introduction to the Seder plate, there is a program designed for every generation.
Here is how you can get involved this Passover season at the Boulder JCC:
JParent Family Shabbat: Pre-Passover Shabbat Dinner
Friday, March 27 | 5:30 - 7:30 pm | $15/family
Gather the family for a relaxed evening of community and learning. While the kids enjoy art, music, and activities with counselors, parents will have the opportunity to explore the holiday's themes together. Join the Boulder JCC for a Pre-Passover Shabbat on Friday, March 27, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Registration is $15/family.
Passover on the Farm
Sunday, April 5 | 3 - 5 pm | $15
Bring the Seder plate to life at the Milk and Honey Farm! This co-sponsored event with PJ Library is a favorite for families with children ages 0-11. It’s a chance to see the "signs of spring" up close and understand the agricultural roots of the holiday. Come prepared to plant, taste fresh ingredients, greet our farm animals, and so much more!
Passover Food Drive with Community Food Share:
The Haggadah reminds us of our responsibility to our neighbors. With 1 in 12 people in Boulder and Broomfield Counties currently experiencing food insecurity, this drive is a vital way to live out the spirit of the holiday. The Food Drive will take place through Wednesday, April 1, while the Boulder JCC is open. Congregation Har HaShem and Nevei Kodesh are also accepting food donations.
Most Needed Items:
- Nut butters, cereal, and oatmeal
- Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans)
- Soups, stews, and canned vegetables
- Baby food and formula
