There is a specific electricity that hums through the Boulder JCC as spring arrives. While many call this season a simple "awakening," those at the Milk and Honey Farm know the truth: it is a time of raw, authentic, and delightful energy. As the landscape transforms, the Boulder JCC campus establishes itself as the most inspiring backdrop in the region for ceremonies, retreats, and professional conferences.
A Living, Breathing Ecosystem
Sustainability is more than a buzzword at the Boulder JCC; it is a practice etched into the soil. Through no-till farming, the team protects the delicate soil structure and the "Food Forest" against Colorado’s notoriously fickle weather.
"Keeping roots in the ground ensures the land stays thriving, even when the weather throws a curveball," says Farmer Becca Gan Levy. This commitment to the land creates a stable, lush environment that serves as a metaphor for the growth and connection fostered within the center’s walls.
What’s New on the Farm?
Visitors to the campus this spring will find a flurry of activity:
- The Pollinators: Honey bees are already hard at work in the Food Forest, ensuring a future harvest of berries and apples.
- The Flock: The chickens have returned to their laying schedules, and the farm is preparing for on-site chick hatching.
- The Goats: The farm is buzzing with excitement following the arrival of Orli’s new kid on April 18!
Versatility in Bloom: Introducing Room 200
While the outdoor Food Forest offers an atmosphere of pure possibility, the Boulder JCC continues to innovate indoors. The newest addition to the venue’s portfolio is Room 200, a "blank canvas" sanctuary bathed in natural light.
Designed for flexibility, Room 200 can comfortably host between 24 and 60 guests. Whether you are planning a high-energy workshop, a focused classroom seminar, or an intimate social gathering, the space adapts to the user's "flow." With optional AV support and an open policy that welcomes outside catering, it offers planners total control over the flavor and technical execution of their event.
Community in Action: The Western Disposal Safety Banquet
The true value of the Boulder JCC is best seen through the events it hosts. On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the venue hosted Western Disposal's 46th Annual Safety Banquet.
The evening celebrated a local success story—a family-owned business that grew from a single truck in 1970 to a fleet of over 70 vehicles today. Over 175 attendees gathered in the light-filled Lobby for cocktails before transitioning to Levin Hall for a dinner honoring the 2025 Safe Workers and Drivers. By hosting local "neighbors" like Western Disposal, the JCC continues its mission of recognizing the essential workers who keep the community running.
Events with a Mission
Choosing the Boulder JCC goes beyond booking a beautiful space. As a non-profit organization, the Boulder JCC hosts events that support its role as a community hub, providing programs for people of all ages and backgrounds. It is a place where people gather to exchange ideas and grow together, regardless of religious affiliation.
The anemones are in bloom, the goats are waiting, and the land is ready to host your story. Come see why "sustainable" feels so good.
