2025 SOLAR PROJECT
In 2025, we are expanding our renewable energy infrastructure by adding 306 kW of solar panels to the roof of our building, complementing our existing 80 kW system (72 kW on our main building and 8 kW at Milk and Honey Farm). Upon completion, the solar panels will produce approximately 80% of the JCC's annual electricity needs, and Milk and Honey Farm will continue to operate as a net-zero facility, with all its power needs met through on-site renewable energy generation.

This ambitious initiative was made only possible through a generous grant from the City of Boulder’s Community, Culture, Resilience, and Safety (CCRS) Tax Grant Program along with funds that are still on track to be provided through the goal of receiving significant support from the Federal Government’s Investment Tax Credit for solar projects through their direct pay reimbursement program for nonprofits. In addition, the project is receiving generous support from:

For this project, we have partnered with Namaste Solar, a local worker-owned cooperative with 20 years of renewable energy expertise, and with TSR Energy, which provided crucial system design guidance to maximize our roof's solar potential.

Sustainability is a foundational pillar at the Boulder JCC. We believe in educating ourselves and the community about ways to live more sustainably. As such, farming and sustainability are integrated throughout our building and program offerings. View some of the initiatives taking place at the Boulder JCC.
